The 2023 Writers and Actor's Strikes apparently offended the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers more than we know.
Paramount's cancellation of 5 CBS Television Series, possibly an unlawful act as it punished the 5 CBS Television Series for honoring two separate Strikes, seems to have cut the enthusiasm for CBS's entire 2024 fall line-up.
While Fall 2024 CBS presently is winning certain key time slots, Paramount's interference in CBS's programming decisions seems to have cut the heart and soul out of their line-up.
Ironically, if CBS does start to falter ratings wise, Paramount will falsely claim it is inevitable that Network Television will continue to falter. If CBS holds on to enough of their ratings, Paramount will proclaim they were right for cutting the heart out of CBS's Fans when they cancelled So Help Me Todd, Blue Bloods, Bob Hearts Abishola, NCIS Hawaii, and CSI Vegas.
Paramount should not be driving CBS programming decisions, and until Paramount backs off, Fans are put in a no win situation, if they boycott CBS, Paramount simply says "I told you so", if CBS ratings don't drop, Paramount will say, I told you so, we replaced popular Television Series with new Series that had smaller budgets and CBS Fans did not care.
What I find chilling about the situation is Paramount, an actual Stock Market Participant, has been granted such power to create their own profit, at the expense of an over the public airwaves entity, CBS.
Something seems wrong with this set up.
